In order to bring "NUTRITION" to the center stage of the National Development Agenda, Government of India has decided to celebrate the entire month of September as “Rashtriya Poshan Maah” (National Nutrition Month) to emphasise on the need for nutrition to develop a healthy nation. This initiative is aimed at sensitising the public on healthy eating, addressing twin issues of malnutrition and undernutrition and obesity in some sections and also intensifying existing nationwide campaign for ‘malnutrition-free India‘.

To maintain the momentum and to capitalise on the gains of these events, the 3rd Rashtriya Poshan Maah is planned in the month of September 2020.

Poshan Maah is symbolic of the continuous efforts of the entire Nutrition fraternity. This annual celebration with an objective to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition for health will extend a positive impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately national development.
